In recent weeks, the country has seen ordinary everyday life turn upside-down. According to the Secretary of State for Health, the coronavirus outbreak is the biggest public health emergency in a generation. London will particularly feel the effects of this cruel virus and we want to hear your views on this crisis. The Policy Forum Groups of the Hampstead and Kilburn and Holborn St Pancras constituencies are joining forces to host an online policy forum event next week to discuss this ongoing situation and its impacts on our city and residents. Constituency members will have a chance to share their ideas, views and thoughts, and both constituencies will then formulate a joint submission to the Conservative Party and the Conservative Policy Forum, so that we have our say in future Government action and policy.
We will be going through a number of vital questions such as:
- What are some positive examples of changes made in your area that others might like to adopt or adapt?
- Are there any groups of individuals whose needs or concerns you think the government has yet to address adequately?
- When do you think current restrictions might be lifted and how could government boost the economy once they are lifted?
- In what ways do you hope society will be better once the pandemic has passed?
Please see the attached discussion paper for more information on the topic. Full details on how to join us via Zoom will be circulated via the association mailing list.
We look forward to virtually connecting with you all next Wednesday and hearing your views.
Best wishes,
Kate Fairhurst - Chair, Hampstead and Kilburn Policy Forum
Alexandra Marsanu and Laurence Toime - Co-Chairs, Holborn St Pancras Policy Forum
